		<description>I want to say something trite, like, "sad but true." Except I'm not so sure it really qualifies as "sad."  Your second observation -- that it helps the audience if the actors are visually different, is pretty significant, as explanations and justifications go.

And, in a way -- it does help someone who is auditioning when they can thin down their competition by realizing that they mostly need to pay attention to their own "type" (as long as the cast isn't TOO small).</description>
