Oh my god. You'll be here during Marta Carrasco. Check out J'arrive if you can!

http://www.goodmantheatre.org/Season/LatinoFest.aspx

And of course there's Millenium Park. Great place to walk around. Or go to Andersonville at Foster & Clark.

If you're up for a late night, don't miss Too Much Light with the neo-futurists, also in Andersonville...

Does it worry you I met you performing in a musical, and that I insisted we watch 'Natural Born Killers' the first time we hung out?

Not to mention the criminal record I have for insane manslaughter?

I see it as more of a sport...

Oh look! Something we CAN agree on! It makes me ill the way people leap to their feet at the beginning of curtain call. Wait till someone who deserves it takes their bow, if you're going to do it at all. (I can think of about 4 shows I've seen in the past 2 years that MIGHT have deserved a standing O from the get-go. And they were tiny, ensemble cast shows.)

Of course, some shows have found tricky ways to force an ovation. Coram Boy comes to mind, as at curtain call the entire cast started in on Handel's Messiah. Yes, the show was quite well done, but I didn't really want to stand until I was good and ready.

Silly sheople.

I agree... but you knew that. I must say, (mostly for my defense), in places such as The Fox... one might stand up at the end just to be able to get the hell out of there quicker! Then again, you know they're going to rant about money and charity and such... so unless you've got an aisle seat and very little company, I suppose you should just stay seated.

Actually it was the monk that says that to Daniel, not Oma. He comes face to face with her for the first time later that episode.

Nice post though (found through being one of the top links on Google for that phrase) =D

You're absolutely right. And I knew that already. I wasn't referring so much to the play "Everyman" as to a modern day Average Joe ;)

Everyman's nemesis is Death, which he overcomes with the help of his friend Good Deeds.

And you call yourself a theatre person!

Well, the other reasons can be good ones, important ones. Decisive ones. Just know why you're going, and know what you can and can't expect!
